IN THE NEWS May 1, 1975   -The big news this week is the opening of the 714 room Marina Hotel. A few old locals mourned the loss of Tropicana Golf Club motel that it replaced. The Golf Club was unique because its rooms each had a small pool, not big enough to swim in, but certainly big enough to have fun in. A perfect date night was dinner and later drinks at the small downstairs bar and a night of "swimming" in your room.
