"Collectable Stuff"

You may recognize Robert Scott Hooper's photographs from magazines but they have also been printed as posters, postcards, wallpaper, billboards, cab signs and many more mediums. Here's where you'll find a selection of printed items, (some old, some new), various Las Vegas memorabilia and who knows...maybe a g-string or two.
In 1983 Hooper produced a calendar "The Fabulous Girls of Las Vegas" featuring nudes of Las Vegas girls from all walks of life. Dancers, showgirls, cocktail waitresses, front desk clerks and more, showing their stuff in and around Las Vegas. There are a limited number of this Collectors Edition Calendar still around and they can be purchased here for $19.95.

Elsewhere on this site you will be looking at old photos and ordering new prints "made to order" with the technologies of today. In this section you will find only "true vintage prints" made at the time of the shoot. Some of them will be 40 years old or more!

Vintage prints are usually more expensive simply because they are old. The best description we can point to is this from Hakelbury.co.uk : "The definition of vintage is not quite uniform, but in its strictest version, the photographer should have photographed and printed from that negative within one year. As we get further from the negative date, the window of "vintage" can often be expanded to cover five or even ten years. The price for a vintage photograph can be about four to six times as much as the price for a modern or later print."
There are hardly any b&w darkrooms around and today's technology doesn't even use the same kind of paper or chemicals to achieve a print. So, it is easy enough to see that to a collector vintage prints are highly prized because they "ain't makin' any more".
Many of these "true vintage" photos were taken by R Scott Hooper and printed in his darkroom right after they were shot. But many of them came from other sources that he collected over the years. Some are from the Las Vegas News Bureau (where he worked for a time) and others came from Las Vegas publications like the Vegas Visitor and Panorama tabloids, who used them for publicity. They have been carefully stored in our archives, kept in cool darkness away from the elements, which is why they are still in great shape after all these years. The prints will all have been printed by hand, usually within the same year they were taken, and often right after the actual shoot.
The image displayed here is an actual photo of the print available, and, there is only one like it. Taking pictures of pictures, especially glossy prints is not an easy task because of reflections. But, it is the only way to show you the entire print and cropping and condition. These vintage prints are mostly in very good condition, and if there are, any real imperfections we will point them out in the text.

It was 1979 and Angelique Pettyjohn had an idea. She often had ideas, creative person that she was, about costuming, decorating, burlesque acts and promo ideas. So she called her friend and photographer, Robert Scott Hooper that she had an idea for a poster (or TWO) and was he on board. Of course!
Angelique did several films and guest starred on many TV shows over the course of her career, but none was more memorable than her character Shahna from the The Gamesters of Triskelion episode of the original Star Trek. She played a green-haired vixen who fought Captain Kirk and smacked him with a kiss, one of the few lip locks the captain of the Enterprise ever got. She wanted to do a poster of that character.

Actually, two posters. One in her full futuristic costume and one with nothing on but her green hair and silver boots! Making sure that the carpet matched the drapes, Angelique went all in on the green haired girl. Naturally the nude poster would sell for double the fully clothed one and she would take them to the Trekkie conventions and sell them with her autograph. It was a great idea and Angelique cemented her legacy both as a Star Trek star and a burlesque queen with those posters.

The posters are a rare find today, but you can buy both of the original images in various sizes right here.

Canvas prints offer their own, unique esthetic to photography collectors and photographic artists. The elegant look of a painting containing texture and depth and a beautiful photograph combine to create a new art. It is difficult to express how truly impressive these canvas prints are without holding one in your hand and seeing it up close. They have the feel of an original oil painting, with the incredible detail of a photograph. The texture creates depth that draws you into the image in a way that normal photographic prints do not. And canvas prints do not need to be framed with protective glass so the image can be seen clearly without having to deal with glares. These giclee prints reproduced on stretched canvas are done with a high-resolution inkjet printer using a UV pigmented ink set which produces highly archival art. The acid-free canvas has been treated to neutralize its natural acidity in order to protect fine art and photographic prints from discoloration and deterioration. With proper care and elimination of direct sun light, your canvas print has the potential to last a lifetime.
