IN THE NEWS February 15, 1980  - "Good Times Roll at Riv." takes on new meaning this week (2/14/2015) with the announcement that the Riviera Hotel will be taken over by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for exhibit space. This day In 1980 Anne Murray and Rodney Dangerfield were appearing in the Versailles Theatre and Tony Bennett & Joan Rivers were at the Sands Copa Room. Interesting fact, designer Bob Mackie was THE fashion designer of the day. He is mentioned twice on the cover, once referring to Joan Rivers wearing him and again as the cover girl selling fans to him.

FANCY FAN DANCER -Lovely Amaretto wants to become known as the world's greatest fan dancer. In fact, when she is not dancing with her fans in "Olde Tyme Burlesque" at the Maxim Hotel she sells fans and works with such well-known designers as Bob Mackie. As most of her loyal fans would say, "It's amazing what she can do with fans!"
