International Hotel

Diverse Entertainment
The International Hotel (now the Hilton) opened one day after the Landmark Hotel on Paradise Road, "the second strip". Owned by Las Vegas financier Kirk Kerkorian, who was the original owner of Caesars Palace, the hotel did well from it's very first year by drawing the traffic from 'next door', the Las Vegas Convention Center. By 1970 Kerkorian had sold all his Las Vegas holdings as he turned his attention to building the huge, 2,000 room MGM Grand Hotel (now Bally's.)
