Shirley Jones on the Vegas Visitor cover

Shirley Jones

Vegas Visitor 5/10/68
IN THE NEWS May 10, 1968   -HELLDORADO TO HIT LAS VEGAS as the Elks Lodge stages it's 34th Annual Helldorado and Rodeo, a completely Las Vegas holiday created so we could all act and dress like the old west for a week. Besides the Kangaroo Kort being hosted at the Boulevard Center, the new McDonald's Playhouse production of "The Legend of Buffalo Bill starring strip favorites Wayne Albritton, Mikki Sharait and Dennis Dawkins.

Vegas Visitor Cover Girl Caption  HELLDORADO '68 - Shades of the wild, wild west! Not typically western (but maybe a little bit wild?) is Shirley Jones of Hotel Thunderbird as she portrays the spirit of Las Vegas' favorite local celebration. She invites all visitors to enjoy themselves during the rodeos, carnivals, beauty pageants and Kangaroo Kort hijinks through May 19.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Shirley's equipment (western, that is) is from Charlie Shelton's Rowel in Fashion Square.
