 Playboy Mexico May 1981
|
The Mexican Playby had many incarnations. You did not see PLAYBOY on the cover of the Mexican edition of Playboy until November of 1990, even though it was first published in November of 1976. The first issue with Patty McQuire on the cover and an interview with Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) was called Caballero. The name changed to Signore in May of 1981 and looked pretty much exactly like Playboy except for the name. The Mexican editions stayed with American playmates and for the most part copied the US editions in covers and layouts. Unlike the fine printing in the German editions, the Mexican Playboys often had issues with printing. They seemed to go through periods of terrible looking paper and ink and then a few months later, seemed to try another paper or printer and look great.
