Goddess Angelique

Photographed in 1971 for Angelique's promotional or theatrical photos. She was in between Vegas shows and putting together new costumes and a new act. This costume illustrates the kind of money and time burlesque stars like Angelique Pettyjohn spent on their acts, with the fabric alone costing hundreds of dollars. Add to that, hand worked sequins or beads, head gear, lingerie to match, feathers and boas, and each costume was a huge investment.
